About WEF

Wisconsin Education Fairs, Inc. was created in 1978 with the goals of coordinating and improving the flow of information about post-secondary educational opportunities to high school students in Wisconsin. In addition to serving the high school student population, WEF welcomes to its programs any person interested in postsecondary education and military opportunities. The intent of the program is to:

  • Better serve the public by providing prospective students and parents the opportunity to browse freely and meet with professional staff members from approximately 100 postsecondary institutions in one central location
  • Supplement the high school guidance programs
  • Provide admission and recruitment personnel a convenient fall travel schedule, allowing personal contact with more high school students than was once possible

Wisconsin Education Fairs provide easy access to information about postsecondary options on a timely basis for all Wisconsin citizens, regardless of geographic location.

WEF includes in its participant list all UW state universities and centers, Wisconsin’s independent colleges and universities, Wisconsin technical colleges, and many out-of-state institutions. In addition, many community colleges, trade schools, and the national service organizations, such as the armed forces are represented.

All interested persons are invited to attend a Wisconsin Education Fair program. Most high schools in Wisconsin will be invited to attend a specific program based on the school’s proximity to a site. Each WEF program has a Site Coordinator who can provide specific information regarding participation. Persons interested in participating in a Wisconsin Education Fair are encouraged to contact the Executive Director or the nearest Site Coordinator.
